Ponn Oly has been a licensed physiotherapist for more than 19 years. She received a Singapore General Hospital Scholarship and graduated with a Diploma in Physiotherapy from Nanyang Polytechnic, thereafter completing an undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney. Having worked in Singapore General Hospital, it sparked her desire for helping people with musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries. Hence, she went on to pursue her Masters in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy from University of South Australia. She has also completed a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research in Canada and had worked in the Calgary Prostate Cancer Centre handling clinical research data. She is currently pursuing a Certificate in Data Analytics, Python, Machine learning and AI from the National University of Singapore to advance her understanding of analysing data. She has also expanded her knowledge by studying new advancements in visceral manipulations, Pilates and recently started on lymphatic management studies by Vodder School.
Driven by a deep desire to help those with spinal conditions, Ponn Oly started helping patients through scoliosis management upon returning to Singapore, having underwent rigorous training in ISST Schroth techniques in Edmonton, Canada. Unlike traditional approaches, the ISST Schroth method empowers individuals with scoliosis through personalised exercise programs. Ponn Oly recognizes the profound impact these exercises can wield in scoliotic posture and mitigating discomfort. Her attainment of ISST Schroth Level 1 certification underscores her unwavering dedication to helping scoliotic patients.
Ponn Oly is an avid mountain trekker. She used to be completely out at the Rocky Mountains camping with her family during summer and winter scaling all the tough trails in Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise and British Columbia. She also started learning downhill skiing and enjoys snow shoeing and cross-country skiing at the Rockies. Recently, she has started scaling the mountains in Mumbai and Pune. She loves travelling to experience different cultures and cuisines as she is a foodie. She frequently treks the hard trails as she enjoys the mental and physical challenges. On her rest days, she is always whipping up delicious Indian dishes and her best dish is Dum Briyani. Recently, she has picked up learning the Indian Martial Arts, Kalari from Kerala.
