Farha completed her studies at Curtin University (Australia) before beginning her career at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where she was first exposed to a variety of cardiopulmonary, oncology, neurological and orthopaedic conditions. She then went on to specialize in treating musculoskeletal conditions in infants, children, adolescents, and women. She has therefore worked with a wide range of age groups: from infants with torticollis, to adolescents with sporting injuries, to women ante/postnatally and even with older osteoporotic ladies.

Farha strongly believes that fully understanding a patient’s condition plays the biggest role in recovery. Together with patient education, she employs exercise training, myofascial release, dry needling, manual therapy and taping when necessary, to aid in rehabilitation. Overall, she is confident that an individualized treatment addressing the person holistically will improve his or her quality of life.

Farha’s specific area of interest lies in treating scoliosis patients. At KKH, she championed active conservative treatment and was a pioneer therapist in conducting scoliosis specific exercises. This is contrary to the traditional approach for scoliosis management, which only offers the option of bracing. She understands that exercise is an important component for scoliotic patients of all ages to help improve the scoliotic posture and be pain free. Having been trained by scoliosis specialists overseas while on courses in the United States and Netherlands, Farha is inspired to work with doctors and other professionals locally to improve how scoliosis is managed in Singapore.

Farha is also one of few physiotherapists locally who has a special interest in paediatric musculoskeletal conditions such as hypermobility, torticollis, tip toe walking, and other developmental issues. She enjoys working closely with children of all ages and their families to make meaningful differences in their everyday lives. With her vast background in both the public and private sector, Farha brings a highly experienced, professional, and practical approach to her sessions.
